You have arrived

The web that was promised to us:
no data-harvesting hunting grounds

Under construction or not under construction?

This website is under construction, it's gonna be awesome. Come back regularly to see the changes.

  Important message❗

This webdomain is under constant attack
from malicious individuals.

For this reason it might go offline on a regular basis,
to do research and take measurements.

I am truly sorry that it has to be this way,
but our web is a hunting ground for criminals and dataharvesters
and the ones who cán (governments and bigtech),
don't care one bit,
because it doesn't earn them money 🤮

RIP a nice and safe internet.

Webdevelopment here and there:

thewww.top websites use:

No javascript
No cookies
No third-party codes (only self-written)
No person-IP trackers
No malware
No Content Delivery Network(s)
No persons'-data-harvesting
No financial gains

Only:
HTML
CSS
PHP
A strong CSP
Valid sourcecode
HTDML for better user-experiences
Optimised server-configurations for pure speed
Honest and objective information

The truth about 🤮 JaVaScRiPt 🤪:

JavaScript is a Trojan Horse pushed by Bigtech to enable their trackers to collect as much data from us as possible. Meanwhile it executes at the visitors' machine, which can harm their device.

BTW: you cán shut it off in the internet-settings, you don't háve to share your life-secrets with the whole world and you don't háve to bear the risks that webdevelopers don't want to be responsible for.

The truth about "Best practises":

I don't know how to use HTML to print "Hello World" on the screen, but I dó know how to install a framework with as much dependancies as possible to achieve the same.

I only need to put 'unsafe-inline' in my Content Security Policy.

Everybody I know does that too, they say it's "best practises"

Me, searching the web:

CDN : verifying you're human... (12 seconds)
Page loading... (2 seconds)
Cookie-banner... (2 seconds)
Page loading... (2 seconds)
Advertisement (looking for the shutdown-cross... (6 seconds))
Page loading... (2 seconds)
Looking for my search-result... (12 seconds, no good result found)
Trying to leave, pop-up: "Before you go..." (another 2 seconds)

Those were 40 seconds of my life that I never get back,
because of your crappy website.

Thanks for nothing 😡

"Under construction" is old: beautiful-legacy-old.

It was what you saw on many websites around 20 years ago, but Big Tech didn't like it, so they invented the SEO-thing (Search Engine Optimalisation) and if you still had this on your website, you would be placed at the bottom of the search results.

This SEO-thing became big and all the people, they followed the SEO-beast and did whatever he demanded, ór sadly just gave up their hobby (building websites) that gave them so much pleasure: ==> put yourself out there on the web and show the world what you can do, using (D)HTML and music on the background, flickering dividers and pulsing hearts. Arrows that turned and turned and a big blinking  Welcome!  in shiny colors going up and down and left and right. It was a circus sometimes. But it was just pure fun and play.

Enter BigTech: dollars, corporate-bankaccounts, your personal information as merchandise, pressure-tools like SEO, penalties and manual actions, spreading fear of losing your ranking in the search engines etc. That's when the people lost the web.

Are you looking for extended hosting or a VPS for a good prize? Have a look at IfastNet.

I have a philosophy: everybody is welcome as long as you respect my rules. It's as simple as that: I have 3 sitemaps for searchbots' convenience: sitemap.txt, sitemap.xml and sitemap.php. They are free to choose which one they want to use.
But there are three very bad bots who do not respect my rules.

So: blocked from this website is Googlebot, Bingbot and Facebookbot. I do not want them on my websites, I do not want them to follow everything I do, I do not want them tracking my visitors on my website, I do not want them to tell me what I should do and what not, I do not want their "personalised" ads, I do not want their SEO-tools, I do not want to be any part of that and therefore I do not want their bots and I do not want their rules. This website is under construction and I will take my time: it's my website, my property, my rules.

The battle of the bots

For a while now I follow all the searchbots that visit my website with my cookiefree Amazedsmiley self written analytics-tool and I have grown to love these dynamics behind the World Wide Web. There's só much going on: it's a fascinating world, it really is.

Most website-developers see it as a nuisance: something that you don't want, that you have to deal with. But not me: I just love to see Ahrefsbot calmly crawling my pages while everybody is yelling: Ahrefs is a bad bot! It's not, it's actually one of the politest bots there are. But Ahrefs is not the only one, there are much more very polite bots like Yandex or Seznambot etc. They all identify themselves and they respect my websites' rules.

But there are bad bots too: bots that do not respect the rules, bots that almost suck the life out of the webservers, bots who don't care that people want to have a fast-loading website, bots that only care about themselves. And yes: who do these bots come from: Big Tech-companies, Google Bing/MSN and Facebook. They don't give a damn about anyone else, they're greedy and disobedient. Those are the real bad bots, not the tiny companies that I mentioned before.

So now that I've named the bad bots 👺 , let's name the good bots 💕 too (that I know of, that is):

Applebot, Chrome-lighthouse, Google-inspectiontool, HSTS-preloadbot, Validator, Awariobot, Validbot, Opensiteexplorer, Yandex, Internet-management, Ahrefsbot, Livelapbot, Flipboard, BlueSkybot, Trendictionbot, Friendica, BlueSky Cardyb, GTmetrix, Webpagetest, Seznambot, DataforSEObot, Babbar, Checkmarknetwork, Guzzle, Some Searchbot, Alex Cohn Preloadlist Checker, Headless Scraping, Archive, Dataprovider, MJ12 Bot, RedditBot, Amazonbot, URLCheckerBot, DeepSeekBot, HuaweiCrawler, Friendica, Quora-Bot, HubSpotBot, OpenAIBot, OpenIntel, Mojeekbot, Scrapy, Owler, Elisabot, Censys inspect and Palo Alto Networks.

You might probably think "what about DuckDuckBot?". Well: DuckDuckGo buys their main portion of results from Bing and the two times that a "seemingly DuckDuckBot" visited my site, they were both spoofed user-agents with a high confidence-score on AbusedIPdb, which makes them an actual risk.

You know, my fellow-webdesigners? You can spend all your money and all your time on SEO thinking that you will be rewarded with high search-engine rankings, but you might find out that you won't. Effectively SEO is only a small part of the eco-system, because good SEO is no guarantee for higher ROI. What did all your efforts bring you? 300 bouncers a day who are gone in 0.4 seconds and make your analytics unreadable? Just look at the quality of the websites on top of the rankings: are they really that nice?
Higher ROI can can also be achieved by exploring other sources of visitors like niche forums, blogs and social media. These channels could bring you a higher conversion-rate per visitor and you might find that you will see ROI quicker than when you fully concentrate on SEO to get a higher volume of visitors.
There is just no "one size fits all": look at your product and ask yourself: "do I see chances in niche corners of the web to get other types of visitors who are more engaged in looking at what I have to offer"?

Question: So what advice can I give you?
Answer: Well, that completely depends on your specific use-case, probably a good advice would be: don't rely on SEO alone, look for more generic traffic from your niche(s) and "ask Dirty Harry"

From English to Dutch now:

Beste Nederlandse bezoeker:

Webdevelopment as a form of art:

I see webdevelopment in two possible forms:

1: Building websites professionally, like for companies and institutions
2: Building websites for the fun of it and the possibility to express yourself.

It's a pity that we don't see many personal pages anymore: they bring life and a whole extra dimension to the web. They give people the feeling that the web is made for them and not for profit only.

I would like to encourage everyone to publish a website, it's fun and it's free to not very expensive, from 0 (infinityfree, see below) to 60-70 euros/dollars a year and you have your own webspace, mostly with your own domain-name too and you can start conquering the world by showing the fish that you caught, the recipes you cooked, the games that you played, the lawn you have mowed, rant about your grievings under the freedom of speach, place reviews of hotels that you've been in, shops that you went to, stuff that you bought, whatever ❗

We, the people, were promised the web as a place where we could meet, share thoughts, have fun and feel free and save.

Therefore: we, the people, must take back the web from corporate greed and set our rules, because it's our WWWeb.
Really: the internet wasn't meant to be dominated by a few. It was meant to give the society we live in an extra layer for everybody with huge opportunities and without leaving whole groups of people out. So let us all claim our own webspace and take back what belongs to us and to us only. John Lennon said: "It takes only one song to change the world".
I say: "it takes only one well designed and honest website to do the same".
Will it be yours?
